Expert Machining and Custom Fabrication of New Damper Coupling for the AMHS MV Columbia
May 1, 2010
Damages sustained to the damper coupling on the Port main engine of the Alaska Marine Highway Systems MV Columbia rendered the damper unable to operate normally; thus not able to protect the crankshaft from harmful vibratory stress levels. To restore the functionality of the coupling TMPS implemented a combination of both engineering and machining in order to remove the damaged material from the crankshaft for the mounting of a newly designed and fabricated damper coupling hub.
